We’re very humbled to be able to showcase a “MODERN” Honduran coffee from one of the most prominent producers - the Caballeros! They have been experimenting with natural processed coffees over the last few years & we have consistently enjoyed the different iterations of it.
This lot comes from one of the many farms they own, Las Lomas. They grow mostly Catuais as their main cultivars, but are known to also produce some unique varieties such as SL28 as well as Geshas. Moises has been systemically trialling different fermentation & drying techniques, to achieve elevated flavours without obscuring the cultivar character or the terroir. This coffee was dry fermented on raised beds before being moved to mechanical dryers to achieve the desired moisture content.
We really enjoy the dense & fruity expression of this EFN Catuai, with notes of dried cranberries & red grapes. The mouthfeel of this Catuai is also elevated, lending a velvety texture to the taste experience. We hope you will enjoy this coffee as much as we do!
