Excited for our “CLASSIC” coffee for August! This fully washed Red Bourbon comes from Nova Coffee of Gicumbi, Rwanda & is one of the amazing standouts we discovered last year through a new relationship with Latanier Coffee. 

Nova Coffee was founded in 2015 & is owned by Agnes Mukamushinja & Felix Hitayezu. They focus strongly on empowering the women in their community, making up to 85% of their workforce. The cherries are collected from a few hundred smallholder farmers daily, before being brought to the wet mill. The coffees are pulped & dry fermented for up to 18 hours to achieve the desired pH level. They are then rinsed before being dried on raised beds for up to 2 weeks to the desired moisture level. 

We have so much respect for Rwandan coffees, displaying the resilience they have despite the country’s turbulent past. Nova Fully Washed displays a crisp acidity like Mirabelle plums & a sweetness like baked apples. We hope you will enjoy this coffee as much as we do!
