THE ORIGIN

Rwanda is an origin we admire, resilient throughout its recent tumultuous history. Mahembe is a family operation, a source of community support in the Nyamasheke region of Rwanda. We have proudly roasted and served their coffees since Day 1, firstly via Nordic Approach and now Latanier Coffee.

THE PROCESS

Coffees are harvested from Gituntu, one of 3 family farms owned by Justin. They are hand sorted meticulously and dry fermented for 12-18H. Cherries are rinsed and laid in thin layers on raised beds, consistently raked and turned over to ensure even airflow and drying resulting in bright, clean coffees.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS COFFEE

This fully washed coffee is our final showcase of Mahembe for the year, we wanted to end it on a classic note. In this cup you will be tasting juicy goji berries, chrysanthemum tea and brown sugar!
