THE ORIGIN

In the Murang’a region of Kenya, Kamagogo is one of the washing stations that is managed by the Kiru Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS), which collects cherries from 3,500 smallholder farmers. This is an “AA” lot, which comprises mostly large beans, AA and AB being the most common sizes.

THE PROCESS

Coffees are handpicked and sorted, then pulped using an eco pulper. Cherries are dry fermented overnight to break down mucilage which eases the washing process. After rinsing off the mucilage, clean parchment is left to dry on raised beds for 7-15 days.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS COFFEE

Kenyans have always been one of our favourite origins to showcase, for their distinctive acidity and juicy body. It’s our first time featuring a coffee from the Murang’a region, and we find it to have a pleasant balance of acidity and sweetness. In this cup you’ll be enjoying raspberry yoghurt, brown sugar with hints of vanilla!
