THE ORIGIN

Ijen Lestari is a relationship we hold dear to us over the past four years of working together. The Dharmawan family’s tenacity and resilience to produce award winning coffees, despite being a small family farm with limited resources, never fails to impress us. We are so humbled to be continuing this relationship into 2026.

THE PROCESS

Farmers carefully select and sort coffee cherries, then spread them on raised beds for drying. During drying, the mucilage & esters are what creates the characteristic sweetness and density of natural coffees. Close monitoring and periodic turning of the cherries are necessary to prevent overfermentation and undesirable flavors.

WHY WE CHOSE THIS COFFEE

Ijen Lestari continues to produce stellar lots each year, this naturally processed coffee is no different. This coffee shines as an espresso, having an adequate balance of winey sweetness and raspberry fruity intensity. On milk, it transforms into a creamy and decadent dessert-like experience of black forest cake. We hope you enjoy this coffee as much as we do!
