We’re excited to share the 2024 Ethiopian harvest! Ethiopian coffees remain our favourites for their prominent fruit and floral characteristics. This “CLASSIC” fully washed coffee comes from the renowned Chelbesa washing station in the Worka Gedeb region of Yirgacheffe.
At an incredibly high altitude of 2100 MASL, the surrounding farms grow mostly Kurume and Dega. At this elevation, slower maturation results in smaller but denser cherries. Approximately 170 farms contribute cherries to Chelbesa, where the cherries are first sorted and then pulped before being wet fermented for 72 hours. Finally, the coffees are dried on African raised beds for up to 2 weeks.
This coffee offers a beautifully refined flavour profile, led by the ripe sweetness of yellow peaches. The elegant aroma and lingering aftertaste of honeysuckle adds a delicate floral touch, while the soft, full-bodied mouthfeel is reminiscent of mellow cantaloupe.
