"EXPERIMENTAL" remains a growing niche, as the market seeks more unique coffees either through post harvest processing or newer cultivars grown in new origins. These initiatives are generally industry-led & as producers catch on, they take on the risks themselves to explore these demands. 

This month, we are showcasing popular Nicaraguan producers Gabriela & Henry Hueck with their farm Las Marias! For the 3rd year running, we are humbled to highlight the amazing work they do as producers bringing Nicaraguan coffees to the fore. 

At Finca Las Marias, they grow a range of cultivars, including the famed Geshas. This lot is a full Caturra lot which was Fermented in a low oxygen-environment for 36hours. This allows a prolonged fermentation period, allowing complex flavours to be created. The coffees were then dried in its whole cherry form on raised beds. 

Our "SINGLE PROFILE" roasting philosophy focuses on the gentle, cooked fruit acidity & the creamy sweetness which we believe is the result of the combination of cultivar & processing method. This is a beautiful "every day" coffee that you can enjoy, with a balance of fruitiness & comforting flavours of praline! We hope you will enjoy Las Marias Caturra as much as we do!
