We wanted to sneak in a couple more Kenyan coffees from 2022's harvests as we have really enjoyed them before we started introducing 2023's! This coffee is from the Kitale region of Kenya, a region we rarely have access to. Sirwo Estate is a family-owned Estate, spanning 21 hectares. This already makes it slightly different from the usual cooperative structures we are typically used to.

This lot is made up of the usual cultivars common to Kenyan production I.e. SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 & Batian. The cherries are pulped & Fermented overnight, before being washed & graded by density. Finally the coffees are transferred to raised beds to dry, which usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. This lot is called "AA" which refers to the largest-sized beans. They are thought to be superior in flavour & are more prized, although we have also come across amazing AB grades of Kenyan coffees.

Whilst this is a "CLASSIC" Kenyan coffee, we've uncovered unique flavours from Sirwo AA! We love the tropical sweetness reminding us of mangosteen as well as the lively blackcurrant & grape like acidity. The mouthfeel is juicy as expected & ends with a lovely twist like grapefruit. We hope you will enjoy Sirwo Estate AA as much as we do!
