Last year, we came across an incredible Colombian coffee that was intensely sweet, juicy & memorable. We told ourselves we will definitely purchase this coffee again if we came across it this year. We are super grateful to Nordic Approach for continuing to source coffees from Los Idolos.
The farm is situated in Buesaco, Narino. This region is unlike most in Colombia, with extremely high altitudes and steep hillsides. This results in a slightly different climate, affecting the flavour profile of coffees grown there. Marleny Lasso & her husband Edgar Meneses process their coffees at their own beneficio & they do a wet fermentation, which involves fermenting depulped coffees in a tank of water. This fermentation period is usually between 12-14 hours & the coffees are rinsed before being dried.
We absolutely love its dense sweetness and body as well as its round and structured acidity; truly a hallmark of a high-quality Colombian Coffee.
